Recipes are adapted from the USDA Bureau of Home Economics’ public-domain Aunt Sammy’s Radio Recipes (1927) and Aunt Sammy’s Radio Recipes Revised (1931), the latter credited to Ruth Van Deman and Fanny Walker Yeatman. Drinks also come from International Silver Company, Meriden, Connecticut, A Few Beverage Recipes and How to Mix Them (1928), preserved by the EUVS collection. These American sources reflect the foods of U.S. households, including dishes with international roots.
